Though I may have thoroughly enjoyed focusing my attention on something mythological and fantastical, I must once again return my concentration to wildlife work. There are several pieces requiring completion, yet my life has been too busy for me to pay them a visit. C'est la vie! I must certainly thank everyone who has shown appreciation in The Chimera, how wonderful!

The Chimera

Late last night it came to me, it's been a very long time since I've sketched or brought to life one of my favorite mythical creatures. I am so overwhelmed with illustrating wildlife that I have been ignoring a more freeing side of my creativity. So, in order to have a bit of fun I have let myself completely absorb into a pencil rendering of this great beast. This gives me the chance to avoid the avian assault and fool around with big cats. Now, why I don't draw big cats as often escapes me. Considering how much power and grace they evoke, they aren't much different than the eagle or hawk. It came to me this morning while sipping my blueberry tea, I don't have much to sell at the new boutique. Only my western tanager piece and the rooster are available to make prints of at the moment and I must get prints ready by tomorrow. I have been so busy that I had completely forgotten and have thus forfeited my chance to order giclee prints. Though I am not devastated, I am a little disappointed in myself. I suppose I could offer a few cheap prints and see if customers take an interest. If so, then I will consider the option of giclee.
